50 Kenyan Hospitality Graduates Land Jobs Abroad with Kouzon Corporation

In a major boost to Kenya’s economy, 50 hospitality graduates from Thika’s Cascade Institute of Hospitality have secured job placements with Kouzon Corporation, a Europe-based company. This initiative, part of the government's push to expand job opportunities abroad, aims to increase remittances and enhance Kenya’s global workforce presence.

After a rigorous selection process that included intensive training and interviews, the graduates have been placed with leading cruise companies across Europe and other international tourism destinations. The program is expected to provide valuable career opportunities, international exposure, and competitive salaries, while contributing to Kenya’s growing remittance inflows.

This move aligns with the government’s efforts to address youth unemployment and position Kenya as a key provider of skilled labor in the global hospitality industry. With remittances becoming a major source of income for the country, this initiative is seen as a key step toward economic growth and job creation.

An intern doctor at the Thika Level 5 Hospital died by su***de on Monday, the second such tragedy in two months, amid nationwide protests by healthcare workers over poor pay and working conditions.

Dr Francis Njuki Gachimo was found dead in his house in Kiganjo Estate in Thika, Kiambu County.

According to the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentist Union (KMPDU), the 29-year-old pharmacist had worked without pay since August.

“Earlier in September we lost Dr Desiree Moraa under similar circumstances. I am aware of five who have attempted su***de and were rescued and hospitalised,” said Dr Davji Atellah, KMPDU secretary general.

According to Thika West Sub-county Police Commander Lawrence Muchangi, Njuki’s cousin who lived with him reported the death at the Kimuchu Police Post.
