One of ’s most impactful youth initiatives began with a simple idea: trust young people to lead.

Since its launch in Mukuru, Nairobi, the Youth Peace Clubs initiative has empowered young people to become champions of peace, social cohesion, civic engagement, livelihoods, and the prevention of Gender-Based Violence within their communities.

What started in 2013 in partnership with the National Council of Churches of Kenya - NCCK , Mukuru Slums Development Project, and 53 youth leaders drawn from 15 villages in Mukuru has grown into a powerful model of youth-led transformation. Today, Youth Peace Clubs continue to provide safe spaces where young people identify local challenges, develop solutions, and take collective action to build more peaceful and resilient communities.

To guide this work, FECCLAHA developed the Youth Peace Clubs Workbook, a practical resource that captures lessons, tools, and methodologies for establishing and sustaining effective youth peace clubs.
