This Environment Week, we are honoured to see Keep On Creating Hope featured in an international magazine for our efforts in nurturing environmental awareness and stewardship among children and young people in Korogocho.

Through mentorship, educational programs, and exposure to conservation initiatives, we are helping shape a generation that understands the importance of protecting our environment and creating a sustainable future.

This recognition is a testament to the power of hope, education, and community collaboration. We are grateful to our partners, supporters, mentors, and young people who continue to inspire positive change every day.

Every Saturday at Keep On Creating Hope, we create a safe space where children learn, grow, laugh, and dream bigger. Through mentorship, life skills, guidance, games, and love, we continue shaping brighter futures and making a positive impact in young lives.

At Keep On Creating Hope, we believe every child deserves support, encouragement, and an opportunity to become the best version of themselves.

As a community, we have spent the past few days reflecting on the safety and well-being of children following the heartbreaking tragedies that have affected families across our country.
At KOCH, these conversations are deeply personal. Every child who walks through our doors matters. Every child deserves to learn, play, grow, and dream in a safe environment.
Today, we are grateful to share that our activities have officially moved to a new enclosed space that offers a safer, more controlled environment for the children we serve.
While no place can eliminate every risk, we believe that creating secure spaces is an important step in protecting children and giving parents and guardians peace of mind.
As we settle into our new home, we remain committed to providing not only educational and life skills opportunities but also an environment where children feel safe, valued, respected, and cared for.
The conversations on child safety must continue. Together, families, communities, organizations, schools, and leaders all have a role to play in ensuring that every child is protected.
Every child deserves a safe place to belong.

Our hearts are heavy following the tragic school fires that claimed the lives of innocent children. We are also deeply saddened by the heartbreaking loss of a mother who died in a road accident while rushing to the school after hearing the devastating news. We continue to pray for the father who is currently hospitalized and for every family affected by these tragedies.

As KOCH Family, we stand in solidarity with the students, parents, teachers, and communities going through unimaginable pain at this moment. No parent should have to bury their child. No child should lose their life in a place meant to provide safety, care, and education.

This is a painful reminder that the safety and wellbeing of children must always come first.

We humbly call on all relevant stakeholders to strengthen child safety measures in schools and institutions. Regular safety inspections, proper emergency exits, functioning fire equipment, mental health support, emergency preparedness training, and closer care for children are not luxuries. They are necessities.

May we all work together to create environments where children are protected, heard, valued, and safe.

To the affected families, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Not every gift comes wrapped in paper. Some come wrapped in love, kindness, and intentional hearts.

Seeing our children smile, play, and feel appreciated is a reminder that small gestures can leave lifelong memories.

The world becomes softer and brighter when people choose to give, support, and stand with children. May this spirit continue to grow beyond today.

For many school going children in Korogocho, the meal they receive at school is often the only proper meal they have in a day. When schools close for weekends or holidays, many children are left hungry or survive on just one simple meal.

At Keep On Creating Hope (KOCH), we understand that proper nutrition is deeply connected to a child’s physical growth, mental wellbeing, dignity, and ability to learn and thrive. Hunger affects concentration, emotional wellbeing, school performance, and even a child’s sense of hope.

This past Saturday, KOCH proudly launched our nutritious hot lunch feeding program during our children’s engagement activities. Over 500 children were served a delicious and nutritious githeri meal.

For many of these children, this was the only proper meal they would receive that day.

Beyond filling stomachs, the meal created smiles, energy, warmth, and a sense of belonging. The children were more active, more focused during activities, and able to participate with joy and confidence.

Research continues to show that children who have access to nutritious meals are more likely to concentrate better in class, perform well academically, and develop in a healthier way emotionally and physically. Every child deserves that opportunity regardless of their background.

At KOCH, we believe dignity also looks like a child having a warm meal, sitting comfortably with friends, and feeling cared for.

We know hunger can expose children to many negative outcomes, especially in vulnerable communities. This is why we are committed to bridging this gap through regular hot meals during our engagements with children.

This milestone means so much to the entire KOCH family. We are deeply grateful to everyone who continues to believe in our vision and support our work. Your kindness is helping create safer, healthier, and more hopeful futures for children in Korogocho.
