๐Ÿ“Happening Now in Kwale County

Young women leaders, community stakeholders, and advocates are gathering for a dialogue on leadership, civic engagement, and womenโ€™s political participation as Kenya prepares for the 2027 General Elections.

The conversation is creating space for young women to share experiences, discuss opportunities and challenges in leadership, reflect on digital safety and political participation, and contribute recommendations for a more inclusive democratic future.

Together, we are amplifying young women's voices and strengthening their role in shaping Kenya's future.

Today, Peace Tree Network participated in the Youth Dialogue on Strengthening Youth Leadership and Policy Advocacy in Kenya in Kwale County.

The discussions focused on the African United Nations Youth Delegate Program (AUNYD) national process and Kwale County's contribution to the national youth policy dialogue. Participants also reflected on recommendations emerging from Uasin Gishu County on governance, economic opportunities, peace, and security, while exploring the policy frameworks that shape youth engagement and leadership.

The forum created a valuable space for dialogue between young people, practitioners, and policy actors, enabling participants to share perspectives, identify priorities, and contribute to ongoing national conversations on youth leadership and development.

Peace Tree Network remains committed to supporting meaningful youth participation, peacebuilding, and inclusive policy processes that strengthen communities and create opportunities for young people.

I am honoured to be participating in the Youth Dialogue on Strengthening Youth Leadership and Policy Advocacy in Kenya, convened under the African United Nations Youth Delegate Program (AUNYD).

The dialogue presents an important opportunity for youth leaders, government representatives, community actors, and civil society organizations to explore practical solutions that advance youth participation in governance, peacebuilding, labour processes, and policy development.

I look forward to contributing to discussions that strengthen youth leadership and promote inclusive, sustainable development in our communities.
