Damnak Soriya at Amaya Kampot Holiday Homes.

New architectural photography of Damnak Soriya as tropical plants and landscaping become lushed and surrounding the structure with branches and colors of nature. This holiday home integrates nature with architecture, enforcing and reconnecting people with nature when traveling to Kampot to unwind and to relax.

ADAPTATION(S) - Roundtable - Contemporary Cambodian Architecture: Adapting, Transforming, Inhabiting

As part of the Adaptation(s) exhibition, this roundtable explores how contemporary architecture in Cambodia is developing strategies to adapt to the climate, reinterpret heritage, and rethink the relationship between public and private spaces.
In a context of rapid transformation of Cambodian cities, architects face numerous challenges: tropical climate, multiple legacies, urban densification, and evolving lifestyles. Architects, urban planners, and researchers will share their perspectives on these practices, which contribute to building a contextualized architectural modernity that is attentive to local resources and social uses.

Panel Speakers: Martin Aerne (Aerne Architect & Associates), Hun Chansan (ReEdge Architecture) & Ivan Tizianel (Asma Architects)

Moderate by: Yvon Chalm (K-Architecture)

In celebration of our 15-year milestone, we collaborate with illustration artist Ket Monnyreak to transform our design approach which emphasis on being rooted in nature and grounded in heritage into and illustration artwork.

In this case our favicon (:) becomes the main exploration point to show the contrast between the rigid foundation structure of man made corridor and forms that grow freely, mimicking the fluidity of nature. Inside the nature-structure, the 15-milestone (៑αŸ₯) is fluidly flow within the free form of nature.

To us, this is a great way of celebrating our milestone with the larger design and creative community. We look forward to this meaningful collaboration with more talented designers and artists in the near future.

Illustration by talented Cambodian graphic designer Ket Monnyreak.

Check our newly revamp website: www.reedgearchitecture.com to see the artwork in white and in terra cotta colors.

Maline Office | Urban Green Edge

A modern office building that connects to the city streets, bridging residences and office workers together. The architectural form of Maline is shifted to form pedestrian ramps, steps, urban pocket gardens, urban retails such as coffee shop, hot pot restaurants, waiting areas, social lobby, office core and vertical gardens.

The naturally ventilated office core and naturally lit by day light reduce the amount of electricity usage in all common areas, making it passive and tropical.

The extruded metal mesh provides additional solar shading to the Low-E glass curtain wall on the facade. It also provided additional screens for flexibility of air-conditioning outdoor units when necessary at certain corners. Interestingly, the mesh add layers and volumnes of textures and shadows on the glass tower that move from morning sunrise to evening sunset.
