What an amazing and exhausting 5 days presenting Anida Yoeu Ali's "The Red Chador: Becoming Rogue" at the San Francisco Art Fair!

We welcomed over 600 visitors to participate in the installation. Each person was invited to enter the walk-in closet of The Red Chador and choose one of the beautiful chadors to wear and pose for the cover of "Rogue magazine". From beginning to end, each visitor was treated like a VIP assisted and cared for by a team of dedicated and passionate volunteers.

Each encounter throughout the process is an opportunity for conversation and to cultivate emphathy. To talk about the core concepts of the artist's project, addressing issues of Islamophobia while broadening understanding of the Muslim experience beyond tragic news and stereotypes. It was very well received and we were so happy to hear feedback and thoughtful responses from many visitors.

It was especially exciting to join the US based team. A big thank you to all the wonderful people involved from the San Francisco Art Fair to the Chador team! Everyone worked incredibly hard to make this happen!

Experience 'The Red Chador: Becoming Rogue' by Anida Yoeu Ali (), a participatory installation that transforms a section of into a fashion boutique and performative space.

Presented by .cambodia, this latest iteration invites visitors to step into The Red Chador's luxurious walk-in closet and try on custom garments sourced from the markets of Phnom Penh and Bangkok.

Choose a piece that speaks to you, wear it in the space, and photograph yourself in a bespoke selfie booth as a "covered" cover model for Rogue magazine. Images taken throughout will gradually fill the space.

Blurring fashion, protest, and play, Ali’s work confronts Islamophobia, explores the politics of visibility and veiling, and invites embodied reflection on identity, faith, and resistance.

Join us for a special conversation between San Francisco Art Fair Artistic Director and Anida Yoeu Ali, where they’ll discuss The Red Chador, its evolution, and Ali’s broader practice.

Curious about real-time visuals, interactive media, or how sound and image can respond to each other? This hands-on workshop introduces the TouchDesigner environment and operator basics — ideal for multimedia artists, musicians, designers, and anyone interested in interactive digital media.

Over two mornings, participants will learn how to:
• Navigate the TouchDesigner interface
• Create and connect operators
• Manipulate images with texture operators
• Control networks with channel operators
• Build 3D rendered scenes
• Design simple interfaces and control panels

✨ In the spirit of International Women’s Day, the workshop will also highlight pioneering women in electronic music and sound art — including Daphne Oram, Delia Derbyshire, Suzanne Ciani, and Laurie Spiegel.
