안녕하세요, 통일준비학교총연합회와 협력하고 있는 SEED Advanced Learning Center입니다.
우리 아이들이 통일 세대로서 건강한 시민의식을 배우고,
탈북·다문화가정 친구들과 가정의 이야기를 이해하는 남북청소년 통일준비 공모전에 지역사회 청소년들을 초대합니다.

※ 내년부터는 통일부 및 여러 기관과 협력하여
다른 학교와 지역으로 확대할 예정입니다.

🎯 취지
탈북·다문화가정 학생과 가정의 실제 삶과 어려움을 이해하고,
아이들 스스로 교육·복지·자립을 위한 정책과 아이디어를 고민해 보고,
통일을 준비하는 세대로서 공감, 책임, 연대의 마음을 키우는 것을 목표로 합니다.
글과 그림, 정책 제안을 통해
“우리 아이들의 시선으로 바라본 통일과 이웃 이야기”를 담아보는 자리입니다.

🖊️ 공모 부문
① 글쓰기 – ‘실태 알리기’
주제: 탈북·다문화가정 학생과 가정의 현실과 이야기를 알리는 글
예: 주변에 들은 이야기, 상상 에세이, 인터뷰 형식, 독후감 형태 등 자유
② 사회적 정책 제안
주제: 교육, 돌봄, 자립을 돕기 위한 정책·제도 제안
예: 학교에서 할 수 있는 프로그램, 지역사회가 도울 수 있는 방법, 정부·지자체 정책 아이디어 등
③ 포스터(그림)
주제: 통일, 탈북·다문화가정 이해, 교육과 자립을 담은 시각 포스터
예: 함께 어울리는 한반도, 통일 세대의 꿈, 친구들을 응원하는 그림 등
※ 모든 부문은 초등부 / 중·고등부로 나누어 따로 심사합니다.

부문별 최우수상: 3명 (글쓰기, 정책 제안, 포스터 각 1명)

Hello from SEED Advanced Learning Center,
in partnership with the Unification Preparation Schools Federation. We warmly invite youth in our community to participate in the “Preparing the Next Generation for Unification” contest — a South–North youth initiative that supports understanding of the lives of North Korean defector and multicultural families and cultivates civic awareness in the next generation.

“South–North Youth Unification Preparation Contest”

Beginning next year, the Federation plans to expand this program in cooperation with the Ministry of Unification and partner organizations to reach more schools and communities.

🎯 Purpose
This contest aims to help participants learn about the real lives and challenges of North Korean defector families and multicultural families, to explore ideas and policies that support education, care, and self-reliance, and to build empathy, responsibility, and solidarity as future leaders preparing for unification. Entries should reflect “unification and neighborhood stories seen through the eyes of our children” using writing, policy proposals, or visual art.

Elementary division (초등부)
Middle & High School division (중·고등부)

✍️ Competition Categories
Writing — “Raising Awareness”
Topic: Share the realities and stories of students from North Korean defector and multicultural families.
Formats allowed: personal stories heard locally, imaginative essays, interview-style pieces, book responses, etc.
Social Policy Proposal
Topic: Propose policies or systems that support education, care, and self-reliance.
Examples: school programs, community support initiatives, local or governmental policy ideas.
Poster (Visual Art)
Topic: Visual works expressing themes of unification, understanding of North Korean defector & multicultural families, education, and self-reliance.
Examples: a united peninsula, dreams of the unification generation, supportive friendship scenes.
Each category will be judged separately for the elementary division and the middle/high division.

Elementary Division — 10 winners
Federation Grand Prize: 1 (best overall across all categories)
Category Excellence Awards: 3 (one for each category)
Category Merit Awards: 6 (two per category)
Middle & High School Division — 10 winners
Federation Grand Prize: 1 (best overall across all categories)
Category Excellence Awards: 3 (one for each category)

→ Total: 20 awardees; certificates will be issued.

Submission Deadline: November 27, 2025 (Thursday)
Results Announcement: Posted on SEED Advanced Learning Center website and winners will be notified individually.

How to Submit
Writing & Policy Proposal: A4, 1–2 pages (font size 11, line spacing 160%). Submit as a file (PDF or HWP).
Please clearly state your sources — e.g., search keywords used and number of search results or other references — so the review committee can verify references.
Poster: Physical size: 8-cut or 4-cut drawing paper. Submit the physical work to the school and also upload a photo of the artwork by email.

South Korea Wins Guinness World Records™ Title for “Most People in a Reading Relay” -The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) announced that Seoul set the world record for “most people in a reading relay” at Gwanghwamun Square, winning the Guinness World Records™ title on Sat, Sep. 27. The event marked the 80th anniversary of Korea’s national liberation and the passing of poet Yun Dong-ju. With this achievement, South Korea has become the official Guinness World Records™ holder for the “most people in a reading relay.”english.seoul.go.kr
