Paddle Crossing Lebanon’s Coastline

Lebanon's majestic and historical coastline stretches 240 km from North to South.

A beautiful mix of colors intertwine where the land meets the sea. An intricate, yet powerful, image of rugged mountains and hilltops, divided by valleys winding their way down to the coast, entering the sea through river mouths and deltas formed over centuries by waves beating against the shore.

Our coastline is a reflection of who we are as Lebanese, strong, resilient and wild.

It is in the news that the country is going through a sea pollution crisis and coastal destruction, and speaking of it has become numb to our senses. However, actions are being taken with minor results, such as beach cleanups.

Caroline came with the idea to deal with the problem by using a “technique aimed at shifting attention to more positive aspects of life.” How? by magnifying the positive aspects to highlight the negative issues.

Discovering the coast on a stand up paddleboard has motivated Caroline to set a new world record by paddle crossing Lebanon in 24 hours and raise awareness on four important issues:
