Farmers struggle all year only to lose everything in an instant to floods. We are watching a season of labor being washed away by rain that is becoming increasingly unpredictable—a shift attributed to climate change. Akkar’s heartland needs the vital infrastructure and support systems that allow our farming communities to work and live in dignity. As we continue to assess the situation and engage with regional authorities and communities to find solutions, we call on everyone who can support to stand with us.

We’re proud to have completed a training on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) for key local actors in Akkar, in partnership with the Lebanese Red Cross (LRC). Participants from municipalities, Unions of Municipalities, the Ministry of Agriculture, and First Responder Teams gained hands-on tools to: Assess local risks 🔍; Enhance preparedness 📋; and Implement community-first mitigation strategies 🏘️. This essential work helps build a more resilient future for the entire community.

This activity was implemented in partnership with arche nova under the project "Strengthening local climate-sensitive and universal WASH capacities" funded by the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO).

ن فخورون باستكمال تدريب حول الحد من مخاطر الكوارث (DRR) للجهات المحلية الفاعلة في عكار، بالشراكة مع الصليب الأحمر اللبناني (LRC). وقد اكتسب المشاركون من البلديات، واتحادات البلديات، ووزارة الزراعة، وفرق المستجيب الأول أدوات عملية لِـ: تقييم المخاطر المحلية 🔍؛ تعزيز الجهوزية 📋؛ وتنفيذ استراتيجيات التخفيف التي تضع المجتمع في المقام الأول 🏘️. هذا العمل الحيوي يساهم في بناء مستقبل أكثر قدرة على الصمود لكافة أفراد المجتمع.

تم تنفيذ هذا النشاط ضمن مشروع بالشراكة مع أرشي نوفا " تعزيز القدرات المحلية المتعلقة بالمناخ والقدرات العالمية في مجال المياه والصرف الصحي باستخدام ونشر نهج المساعدات الإنسانية الخضراء." الممول من المكتب الإتحادي الألماني للشؤون الخارجية.

Mada, in partnership with COOPI – Cooperazione Internazionale, COSPE, and the Union of Municipalities of Jurd al Qaytee, and funding from the European Union, has launched a new environmental awareness initiative. We distributed educational materials, including reusable tote bags and animated booklets, to students in public schools across the 10 sorting villages of Jurd al Qaytee, Akkar.This initiative aims to instill good waste sorting practices and foster a sense of environmental responsibility from a young age.
جمعية مدى، و بالشراكة مع COOPI – التعاون الدولي، وCOSPE، واتحاد بلديات جرد القيطع، وبدعم من الاتحاد الأوروبي، أطلقت مبادرة جديدة للتوعية البيئية.
قمنا بتوزيع مواد تعليمية، من بينها أكياس قماشية قابلة لإعادة الاستخدام وكتيّبات مصوّرة تفاعلية، على طلاب المدارس الرسمية في القرى العشر المعنية بفرز النفايات في جرد القيطع – عكار.
تهدف هذه المبادرة إلى غرس ممارسات سليمة في فرز النفايات وتعزيز روح المسؤولية البيئية منذ الصغر.
