The Lebanon Works Education Unit, in collaboration with the University of Balamand, hosted the roundtable event, “Bridging Academia and Industry: Future Skills and Digital Transformation”, bringing together representatives from academia, industry, and the private sector to explore the evolving demands of the future workforce.

Through interactive discussions across the Education, Healthcare, Industry, and Economics sectors, participants exchanged insights on the skills required for tomorrow’s jobs, the impact of digital transformation, and the importance of strengthening collaboration between universities and employers to better prepare graduates for an evolving labor market. The event concluded with practical recommendations to help bridge the gap between academia and industry and support Lebanon’s future workforce.

*Shaping the Future of Education Through AI*

The Lebanon Works Education Unit, in collaboration with SmartESA through its Ed’Innov project, proudly launched a new initiative that will engage more than 20 schools across Lebanon to explore the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in education.

The initiative kicked off with a conference bringing together educators, school leaders, institutional representatives, and innovation experts to discuss how AI is reshaping teaching, learning, and educational leadership.

Held in the presence of Dina Harake, Lead of the Lebanon Works Education Unit, the event featured panel discussions with Unit members Paul Tauk, Tarek Bolbol, and Dr. Youssef Bassim, who shared their insights on the opportunities and challenges AI presents for the education sector.

This conference marks the beginning of a collaborative journey to equip schools, educators, and students with the knowledge and tools to embrace AI responsibly through awareness sessions, dialogue, and capacity-building activities.

Together, we are building a more innovative and future-ready education ecosystem for Lebanon.

On February 8, Lebanon entered a difficult phase, and education was deeply affected.
