🎉 A Milestone Worth Celebrating!

We’re incredibly proud to share that our student, Mohamad Hani Abou Naasse, has officially launched the first version of a prototype designed to detect and neutralize antibiotic residues in food! 🧪🤖

This innovative project was developed by a dedicated interdisciplinary team — three outstanding Chemical Engineering students and Mohamad, a Computer Science student. While his teammates focused on creating safe and effective chemical applications, Mohamad led the design and construction of the machine and built a web application to control the system and monitor results in real-time.

🌟 The result? First place among all the competing teams in the Idealab program! 👏

As Mohamad shared:

“This accomplishment wouldn’t have been possible without the ongoing support of ULYP and the belief in students’ potential.”

“Your investment in my growth and education empowered me to lead, learn beyond my field, and turn an ambitious idea into reality. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in my potential and giving me the opportunity to become someone who drives change — not just dreams of it.”

He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Idealab program for providing the platform, mentorship, and resources to turn their bold idea into a reality.

We are beyond proud of Mohamad and his team, and we can’t wait to see how they continue to develop and scale their prototype.

đź’ˇ Because real change starts with bold ideas and teamwork.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of our student, Mohammad Al-Bakari, who has been awarded a nursing scholarship by the Unite Lebanon Youth Project (ULYP)! 🩺✨ His inspiring journey is a powerful reminder of the transformative impact that education, mentorship, and support can have in unlocking individual potential and driving meaningful change within communities.

As part of his academic path, Mohammad recently completed his final-year project at Beirut Arab University, where he tackled a profoundly urgent and emotionally charged topic:
“Resilience, Vulnerability, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Among Nurses in Lebanon During the 2024 War Attacks.” 🇱🇧

This impactful research not only earned him top academic honors, but also the deep respect and admiration of his professors, who praised the work as being on par with graduate-level. They highlighted his rigorous methodology, sharp analytical approach, and the courageous way he addressed a critical issue often left in the shadows.

What made this achievement even more meaningful was the presence and support of his fellow ULYP peers and ULYP staff, who stood proudly by his side to celebrate this important milestone.

We are truly honored to be part of his journey—and filled with hope for the future as we watch the difference he is destined to make in the world. 🌟💪

📣 Success Story: Rami Umar Sulaiman | Mechanical Engineering | Near East University

I would love to share my journey and how ULYP has supported me along the way.

When I first started university, I faced many challenges—grappling with difficult concepts and adapting to a new academic environment was not easy. The fast-paced learning style and demands of university life made my first year overwhelming.

However, I refused to give up. With determination, I developed effective study strategies, sought help when needed, and kept pushing forward. Over time, I adapted, and today, I am proud to say that I am excelling in my studies. I rank among the top students at my university, particularly in mechanical engineering and other engineering courses.

ULYP has played a crucial role in my journey, offering the support, motivation, and resources I needed to overcome these challenges. I am truly grateful for the opportunities and guidance that have shaped my academic path.

📣 Success Story: Nour Mohamad Wehbe | Double Major: Biomedical Engineering & Electrical and Electronics Engineering | Eastern Mediterranean University

At just 18, I made the life-changing decision to leave everything familiar behind and study abroad. Pursuing a double major in Biomedical Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering was not just an academic challenge—it was a test of resilience.

Adapting to a new culture, making new friends, and starting from scratch wasn’t easy. Living in a dormitory with strangers felt daunting at first, but over time, they became my second family.

While I have consistently achieved high honors, my journey has been far from easy. Being far from my family, who remain in a war-torn home country, has been one of the hardest emotional challenges I’ve faced. Yet, these struggles have only strengthened my determination.

Despite the uncertainty and stress, I have never given up. Every late-night study session, every exam, and every project brings me closer to a future where I can make a real difference. My circumstances do not define me—they fuel my ambition. And my story is still being written.

I am incredibly grateful to the Unite Lebanon Youth Project (ULYP) for making this journey possible. Their support has been invaluable, and I truly appreciate the opportunities they have given me.

💡 To anyone facing challenges—stay focused on your dreams. Keep pushing forward.
