Emotional eating is using food to make yourself feel better, to fill emotional needs rather than your stomach.

Emotional eating doesn't fix the problem, it actually makes you feel worse, and guilty for overeating.

Before you give in to a craving, take 5, pause for a moment and reflect, that way you give yourself the opportunity to make a different decision.

Ask yourself :
- Can I put off eating for 5 minutes?
- while you're waiting check in with yourself.

Learn to accept your feelings even the bad ones.

What you can do is :
▪️Identify your emotional eating triggers(stress, stuffing emotions, boredom, feeling of emptiness, social influence, a sort of reward...)

▪️Find other ways to feed your feelings:
-If you're depressed or lonely, call someone that always makes you feel better

-if you're anxious, try dancing to your favorite song, squeezing a stress ball, or taking a brisk walk.

-if you're exhausted, treat yourself with a hot cup of tea, take a bath, light some scented candles, or wrap yourself in a warm blanket.

-if you're bored, read a good book, watch a comedy show, explore the outdoors, or turn to an activity that you enjoy (playing the guitar, drawing...)

▪️Make daily exercise a priority
▪️Make time for relaxation
▪️Connect with others
▪️Aim for 8 hours of sleep every night.

If you continuously compete with others, you become bitter
But if you continuously compete with yourself, you become better.

Whatever you do, whatever you face, no matter how hard you get hit in life, never ever give up.

Moghrabieh/moughrabyeh:
✔️A traditional Lebanese stew of Moghrabieh pearls also known as “Lebanese Couscous,” along with chicken, chickpeas and pearl onions served with a warm cinnamon and caraway spiced chicken broth.
✔️This dish originally contains animal protein; but it could be converted into a plant based/vegan dish.🌱
❌However this dish is not Gluten-free since it is made from durum wheat which contains gluten.
If you would like to add a bit of colour to your vegan Lebanese moghrabieh, try adding chunks of carrots. Cucumbers and tomatoes pair perfectly with this dish.
