The LAU-Louis Cardahi Foundation held the screening of the film Hima Anfeh, in collaboration with Beirut Art Film Festival (BAFF).

The screening was held in the presence of the directors of the movie, Pascale Feghali and Gabriel Ferneini, followed by Q&A after the film.

Hima Anfeh, Lebanon, 2025, Pascale Feghali & Gabriel Ferneini, 56’, Arabic with English subtitles.

Anfeh is a village on the northern coast of Lebanon, renowned for its archaeological site, salt marshes, and olive oil production. The Hima conservation model, introduced by the Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL), evolved into a community-driven initiative through the municipal council, dedicated to safeguarding this heritage, guided by an archaeologist and the active engagement of local residents. Adopting a visual anthropology approach, the film respects the rhythm of the protagonists and the way they choose to present themselves. It invites us to spend a whole day, from dawn to sunset, meeting the various individuals behind this initiative. Through their stories, the film takes us on a journey where imagination and reality intertwine.
