Lebanon Reforestation Initiative

In difficult times, even a few quiet moments in nature can make a difference.

On May 8, the LRI team spent a day at Arez Ehmej Conservation Park, walking through nature, sharing time together, and reconnecting with the landscapes we work to protect every day.

في الأوقات الصعبة، حتى اللحظات الهادئة في الطبيعة يمكن أن تُحدث فرقًا.

في ٨ أيار، أمضى فريقنا يومًا في محمية إهمج الطبيعية، بين المشي في الطبيعة وقضاء وقتٍ معًا وإعادة التواصل مع المساحات التي نعمل يوميًا على حمايتها.

Even in challenging times, small actions continue to grow into lasting impact. 🌱
On March 27, the EcoClub of SSCC Andket came together to plant around their school in Andket, Akkar, turning care for the environment into action.
Through every seedling planted, young people are helping create greener and more resilient communities for the future.
Supported by the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) and implemented by World Vision Lebanon in partnership with Lebanon Reforestation Initiative, Mada Association and REEF, GDIR promotes inclusive regreening, biodiversity restoration, and community-led environmental action in Akkar Atika, Andket, and Kobayat.

في 27 آذار، اجتمع طلاب النادي البيئي في مدرسة القلبين الأقدسين، عندقت لزراعة محيط مدرستهم في عندقت – عكار، محوّلين اهتمامهم بالبيئة إلى خطوات عملية على الأرض.
فمع كل شتلة تُزرع، يساهم الشباب في بناء مجتمعات أكثر خضرة وقدرة على الصمود للمستقبل.

بدعم من الحكومة الأسترالية من خلال برنامج التعاون مع المنظمات غير الحكومية الأسترالية (ANCP) والذي تنفذه مؤسسة الرؤية العالمية في لبنان بالشراكة مع جمعية التحريج في لبنان، مدى، وريف، بهدف تعزيز التشجير المستدام، حماية التنوع البيولوجي، وتمكين المجتمعات المحلية في عكّار العتيقة، عندقت، والقبيّات.

On May 1st, we welcomed a group from Truth of the Gospel Church in Fanar to the Farid and Daad Karam Reserve for a day in nature.

Together, we explored the reserve, learned about its ecosystems, and hiked along Nahr el Joz, sharing time outdoors and reconnecting with the landscape. The day ended with a simple lunch in a peaceful setting.

As spring unfolds and summer approaches, these moments feel even more important. Despite the challenges in Lebanon, nature remains a space to gather, breathe, and reconnect.
في 1 أيار، استقبلنا مجموعة من كنيسة حق الانجيل - الفنار في محمية فريد ودعد كرم ليوم بيئي في الطبيعة.

تعرّفنا سويًا على المحمية، واستكشفنا تنوّعها البيئي، وقمنا بمسير على ضفاف نهر الجوز، قبل أن نختتم اليوم بغداء بسيط في الهواء الطلق.

مع بداية الربيع واقتراب الصيف، تبقى هذه المساحات فرصة للقاء والتواصل مع الطبيعة. ورغم الظروف الصعبة في لبنان، ما زال بإمكاننا أن نخلق لحظات هادئة ومفيدة.
