The best time to sail the Ionian depends on the kind of trip you want.

In spring, it is slower and quieter, with peaceful harbour fronts and more space in popular ports and anchorages that become much busier during the summer months. By July and August, the energy completely changes. Taverns stay open late, flotillas fill the bays, and the whole coastline feels far more social.

That is why there is never really one “best” month, it depends what kind of trip you actually want.
