Amber Cove Cruise Port is a vibrant cruise port near Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. Amber Cove was developed by Carnival Cruise Line for its passengers. It was named after the Amber that is found in the Dominican Republic.

The port has many activities and attractions for cruise ship passengers of all ages. Some activities have a fee while others are free for passengers. There are so many activities at Amber Cove that it is possible to enjoy the whole day in port without booking excursions in town.

When you first enter Amber Cove, you can head to the large shopping area or the Aqua Zone, Amber Cove’s entertainment area, where you will find many activities.

The shopping area has the standard duty-free stores found at many cruise ports, along with stores such as Diamonds International and Effy. Aside from the regular cruise-type stores, there are a variety of stores where you will find local products. There is also the Mercado, where you will find many artisan products for sale.

At Amber Cove’s Aqua Zone, you will find the swimming pool, water slide, children’s splash area, and the popular zip line, which takes you across the port for a fee. There are several restaurants and cafes, some with spectacular ocean views. To enjoy the ocean, you can rent kayaks, aqua cycles, and paddle boards.
