I see it was during Covid that I last posted on Mango Splash page.
I’m going to do better!
We are still very much here on the beach in the beautiful village of Laborie, St Lucia.
Currently full of lovely guests. One couple from the US in the treehouse, who are, as we speak, horse riding along the Laborie coast line.
A couple from France who left Paris to buy a 15 bedroom hotel in the Pyrenees
An English / S African couple. Jolien hails from Durban, where Jan spent about 10 years, so lots to talk about.

The best part of this Airbnb type business ( apart from making us a living ) is the guests. They all have a story to tell, from all walks of life and from a wide variety of countries.

Our dog pack went back up to ten this morning as a puppy we have been minding for Chef William over the holidays has escaped upon her return. It seems she wants to stay here instead.

We are extremely busy for your winter months, but plenty of vacancies from mid April, if you fancy a break.

Well, like everywhere else in the world, we are still in the middle of the COVID drama. However unlike most countries, we have only has a few cases and no one has passed away. We are sure this is due to everyone here listening and adhering to the rules about wearing masks etc from the first day of lockdown. During the week, Laborie beach is quiet and tranquil and during the weekends, it becomes busy with people spending time with friends, enjoying good bbqs, good music and lots of laughter. In the next few weeks, it is likely that us smaller apartments will be allowed to have visitors, but the authorities, rightly so, are being very cautious to protect the population here. We are looking forward to having quests with us again. We have put all the best cleaning protocols in place and have been given our COVID licence to operate after having an inspection from St Lucia Dept. Of Health and the St Lucia Tourist Board. We have also been using the time without guests to make our places here even more beautiful for you.

We anticipate that for the first few months of opening up, visitors will be encouraged to stay in their rental properties with us, the hosts, getting in groceries and take always for you. This shouldn't put you off coming to Mango Splash or Driftwood Cottage or booking Bay Treehouse. You can still go on the beautiful beach or just hang out in your own pools, chillin' and not needing to go anywhere......

You have all had a tough year, so when the winter starts setting in, we would love you to think about coming and enjoying our world here, again!

We are now into the best of our three seasons in St Lucia, Tourist Season. We have got off to a flying start with two great 60th birthday parties, both held in our new 'cafe'. We can seat eleven at the table and have overflow capacity for a few more should we need it. We had the honour of three precious people who came to help sort out the dog and cat population on the island, managing to spay/neuter 396 animals in four days. They even did some corrective work to a neighbours dog on our sunbed on the beach outside our gate. Looking forward to meeting lots of new guests and a good few returnees as well. Linker is doing great work with his lobster dinners and Barbara with her sumptuous massages. We had a week in the US for Jan's big birthday so my sister Nicola, cousin Lesley and her hubby Ed did a sterling job of looking after everything, including guests and dogs. Thanks to everyone.
