ඌවෙන් ඔලිම්පික් යන පලමු විනිසුරු

ඌව විද්‍යා විද්‍යාලයේ 2001 කණ්ඩායමේ ආදි ශිෂ්‍යයාවක් වන රාජේන්ද්‍රන් අගල්යා , මෙවර ටෝකියෝ ඔලිම්පික් ක්‍රීඩා උළෙලේ බැඩ්මින්ටන් විනිසුරුවරයෙකු ලෙස සහාභාගී වී ඇත. ඇය ඌව පලාතෙන් ඔලිම්පික් උලලකට සහභාගීවන පලමු විනිසුරුවරයා වේ.

35 හැවිරිදි ඇය බැඩ්මින්ටන්හි සුදුසුකම් ලත් විනිසුරුවෙකු හා තාක්ෂණික නිලධාරියෙකි. 2012 දී ආසියානු බැඩ්මින්ටන් සම්මේලනය විසින් පවත්වන ලද බැඩ්මින්ටන් විනිසුරු හා කාර්මික නිලධාරීන් බඳවා ගැනීමේ විභාගයෙන් දෙවන ඉහළම ලකුණු ලබාගෙන ‘ඒ’ ශ්‍රේණියක් ලබා ගත්තාය. ඇයට 2014 දී ‘සී’ ශ්‍රේණියක් ලැබුණි.

ඇය දේශීය හා ජාත්‍යන්තර වශයෙන් විනිසුරුවරයෙකු හා තාක්ෂණික නිලධාරිනියක් ලෙස බැඩ්මින්ටන් ඉසව් රැසකට සහභාගී වී ඇත. ඇය වුහාන් චීනයේ (2017) බැඩ්මින්ටන් ශූරතා ආසියාවේ, මැලේසියාවේ බැඩ්මින්ටන් ආසියා කණ්ඩායම් ශූරතාවලිය (2018), පොදුරාජ්‍ය මණ්ඩලීය ක්‍රීඩා ඕස්ට්‍රේලියාව (2018) සහ චීනයේ ගුවැන්ෂු හි (2019) එච්එස්බීසී ලෝක සංචාරය සඳහා විනිසුරු සහ තාක්ෂණික නිලධාරිනිය ලෙස සහභාගී වූවාය.

පාසල් අධ්‍යාපනය ලබන අතරතුර ඇය කලාපීය හා පළාත් මට්ටමින් නෙට්බෝල්, වොලිබෝල්, මලල ක්‍රීඩා, කබඩි සහ බැඩ්මින්ටන් සඳහා සහභාගී වූවාය. ඇය 2007 දී ජාතික අධ්‍යාපන විද්‍යාලයට ඇතුළත් වූවාය. එහිදී ඇය මේස පන්දු, බැඩ්මින්ටන් සහ නෙට්බෝල් සඳහා සහභාගී වූවාය.

ඇය 2006 සිට 2008 දක්වා ඉංග්‍රීසි මාධ්‍යයෙන් වසර 3 ක පුහුණු වැඩසටහනක් සම්පූර්ණ කළ අතර, පසුව 2010 සිට මේ දක්වා පස්සර දෙමළ මහා විද්‍යාල හි ඉගැන්වීම ආරම්භ කළාය.

First Olympic referee from Uva

Rajendran Agalya, an alumnus of the 2001 team of Uva College of Science, has participated in the Tokyo Olympic Games as a badminton referee this year. She is the first umpire from Uva to participate in an Olympic Games.

The 35-year-old is a qualified badminton referee and technical officer. In 2012, she scored the second highest marks in the Badminton Referee and Technical Recruitment Examination conducted by the Asian Badminton Federation and obtained an 'A' grade. She received a ‘C’ grade in 2014.

She has participated in many badminton events as a referee and technical officer locally and internationally. She has officiated at the Wuhan China (2017) Badminton Championships in Asia, the Badminton Asian Team Championships in Malaysia (2018), the Commonwealth Games in Australia (2018) and the HSBC World Tour in Guangzhou, China (2019).

While in school, she participated in regional and provincial netball, volleyball, athletics, kabaddi and badminton. She entered the National College of Education in 2007. There she participated in table tennis, badminton and netball.

She completed a three year training program in English medium from 2006 to 2008 and then started teaching at Passara Tamil Maha Vidyalaya from 2010 to date.
