AMCOR Launches Flood Response Project in Gampaha

AMCOR, a nationally recognized NGO, has commenced a humanitarian operation to support the communities in Gampaha affected by the recent floods caused by Cyclone DITWAH.

With the generous support of the New Zealand High Commission in Colombo, and in coordination with the Gampaha District Secretariat and the Disaster Management Centre, the flood relief and rehabilitation project officially began on 6th December 2025 in the Gonagaha DS Division.

The Deputy High Commissioner of the New Zealand High Commission, Ms. Gabrielle Isaak, AMCOR Head of Mission, Mr. P. Muralitharan, AMCOR Finance Director, Mr. Duminda Perera, Divisional Secretary of Gampaha, Ms. Nadeeshani Amarasinghe, Grama Niladhari of Gonagaha-1 GN Division, Ms. M.D.A.K.Minitantri along with the AMCOR team and officers of the New Zealand High Commission, jointly distributed dry-ration packs to the affected families.

අම්කෝර් ආයතනය විසින් ගම්පහ දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ ගංවතුර සහනාධාර වැඩසටහක් දියත් කරන ලදි.

දිත්වා සුලි කුනාටුව හේතුවෙන් ඇති වූ ගංවතුර තත්ත්වයෙන් බලපෑමට ලක්වු ගම්පහ ප්‍රදේශයේ ජනතාවට සහාය වීමට ජාතික රාජ්‍ය නොවන සංවිධානයක් වන අම්කෝර් ආයතනය විසින් මානුෂීය සහන වැඩසටහනක් ආරම්භ කරන ලදි.

කොළඹ නවසීලන්ත මහ කොමසාරිස් කාර්යාලයේ මූල්‍ය අධාරය මත සහ ගම්පහ දිස්ත්‍රික් ලේකම් කාර්යාලය සහ ගම්පහ ආපදා කළමනාකරණ මධ්‍යස්ථානය සමඟ සම්බන්ධිකරනයෙන් යුතුව, මෙම ගංවතුර සහනාධාර වැඩසටහන 2025 දෙසැම්බර් 6 වනදා ගම්පහ ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කොට්ඨාශවට අයත් ගොනාගහ 01 ග්‍රාමසේව වසමේදි ක්‍රියාවට නංවනලදි.

නවසීලන්ත මහ කොමසාරිස් සකාර්යාලයේ නියෝජ්‍ය මහ කොමසාරිස් ගේබ්රියෙල් අයිසැක් මහත්මිය, අම්කොර් අයතන ප්‍රධානි මුරලීදරන් මහතා,, අම්කොර් මූල්‍ය අධ්‍යක්ෂ දුමින්ද පෙරේරා මහතා, ගම්පහ ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම්තුමිය වන නදීශානි අමරසිංහ මැතිණිය, සහකාර ප්‍රාදේශිය ලේකම් උපෙක්ෂා මහත්මිය, ගොනාගහ ග්‍රාම නිලධාරිනී දීපානි මිනිතංත්‍රි මහත්මිස,
අම්කොර් ආයතනයේ නිලධාරින් සහ නවසීලන්ත මහ කොමදාරිස් කාර්යාල නිලධාරින් සහභාගී වූ අතර, බලපෑමට ලක් වූ පවුල් සඳහා වියළි ආහාර පාර්සල් බෙදාහරිමින් මෙම වැඩසටහන ක්‍රියාත්මක කරන ලදී.
