Since 1956, Wesley College and S. Thomas' College have contested one of the oldest rivalries in Sri Lankan school rugby. This year, the two sides meet once again to battle for the Sir Oliver Goonetilleke Shield.

The Shield is named in honour of Sir Oliver Goonetilleke—former Governor-General of Sri Lanka, first Sri Lankan to hold the vice-regal post, and a distinguished alumnus of Wesley College. His legacy of leadership and service continues to inspire generations of Wesleyites, making this encounter about far more than the final score.

As another chapter of this historic rivalry unfolds, our boys will take the field with the pride of those who came before them and the determination to uphold the Band of Double Blue.

We invite all Wesleyites, old boys, parents, and supporters to pack the stands at CR&FC Grounds and cheer on our team as they fight for the Shield.
