Today, CICT marked the Dragon Boat Festival with a gathering that went beyond the usual. Our team explored the history and significance of one of China's most treasured cultural traditions, went head-to-head in a lively quiz that sparked more than a few laughs, and then stood side by side at the table, folding bamboo leaves and shaping zongzi for the very first time. For many of us, it was an introduction to something completely new. For our Chinese colleagues, it was a little piece of home. And for all of us together, it was a memorable opportunity to connect, learn, and celebrate as one team. At CICT, we believe that embracing cultural diversity doesn't just enrich our workplace - it strengthens the bonds that unite us. Happy Dragon Boat Festival, from the CICT family.

Today is World Sea Turtle Day — a moment to recognize the quiet, ongoing work of protecting these ancient mariners and the coastlines they return to, year after year.
𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱
Sri Lanka is home to five of the world's seven sea turtle species, and the coastline stretching from Port City to Mount Lavinia is one of their most vital nesting grounds. Last season alone, hundreds of sea turtles were recorded visiting this stretch of beach — but nesting here isn't easy, with marine litter, poaching, and artificial lighting all threatening turtles and their hatchlings alike..
That's why we're proud to partner with the Turtle and Coastal Health United Programme (TACHUP), aimed at giving these turtles — and the coastline they depend on — a fighting chance.
𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 (𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲–𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟵)
Our shared goal is simple: ensure that every turtle visiting this coastline can nest undisturbed, that eggs hatch successfully, and that hatchlings make it safely back to the sea — while also restoring the coastal vegetation that shelters nesting sites and guides hatchlings home.
𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀
• 1,000+ eggs relocated to a safer nesting site (Ex situ conservation)
• 2,000+ hatchlings released into the sea (In situ conservation)
• A dedicated app is currently being developed to support real-time monitoring and conservation efforts
Every nest protected and every hatchling released brings us one step closer to a healthier coastline. Together with TACHUP, we're proud to play our part.

CICT came together once again to observe the Vesak season with its annual Dhamma Sermon and Dansala for employees.
The Dhamma sermon, delivered in English by Venerable Professor Medagoda Abeyatissa Thero, focused on stress management and the importance of reflection during Vesak. The programme concluded with a Dansala shared among staff members, strengthening the spirit of compassion, unity and mindfulness within the CICT family.
