15 families. Forcibly thrown out of their homes in Silwan. Israeli police and settlers stormed in, tossed belongings into the street, and raised flags over empty rooms. The Basbous family was among them. One man, who had lived in his home since the 1960s, was forced out in hours. This is the largest displacement of Palestinians in Jerusalem since 1967. Over 2,000 Palestinians are currently at risk of the same fate. This is not an isolated event. This is not the end. This is an ongoing process of ethnic cleansing across Palestine. It is systematic, it is violent, and it continues every day. Silwan is just the latest chapter in a long story of erasure.
