𝓛𝓮𝓽’𝓼 𝓰𝓸 𝓽𝓸 𝓚𝓲𝓵𝓲𝓷𝓸𝓬𝓱𝓬𝓱𝓲 𝓫𝓮𝓯𝓸𝓻𝓮 𝓰𝓸𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓝𝓸𝓻𝓽𝓱

When I was working in Kilinochchi, I visited some places at that time. One of the Famous place to visit is the Iranaimadu Tank. Iranaimadu Tank is located 8 km from Kilinochchi Town and it’s one of the largest man-made reservoirs in Sri Lanka. Many tourists start visiting the Iranaimadu Tank on their way to the North of Sri Lanka. Iranaimadu Tank provides irrigation facilities to the people around Kilinochchi district. Most of the people living in Kilinochchi depend on agriculture for their livelihood. This tank is a blessing for those people to do two crop farming.

Another historical place is the Kilinochchi Lumbini Viharaya located in A9 Road 2kms from the Kilinochchi Town. While the historical Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi was traveling from Jaffna (The Port of Jambukola) to Anuradhapura, Ven. Sangamitta Mehenin and her group along with King Parakramabahu II stayed on the first day, and it was the first place in Sri Lanka where a branch of Sri Maha Bodhi was planted.
