🏛️ *ඇහැලේපොල වලව්ව ඉටි පිළිම කෞතුකාගාරය - මහනුවර.*

ඇහැලේපොල දිසාවේගේ පෞරාණික නිවස වූ ඇහැලේපොල වලව්ව, අද නවීන ඉටි පිළිම කෞතුකාගාරයක් ලෙස නැවත ජනප්‍රිය වී ඇත. මහනුවර නගර මධ්‍යයේ පිහිටි මෙම 18වන ශතවර්ෂයේ නිවස, ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ අවසන් රාජධානි සමයේ ජීවිතය නැවතත් අත්විඳින්නට අවස්ථාවක් ලබා දෙයි.

2025 ජූලි මාසයේදී විවෘත කරන ලද මෙම කෞතුකාගාරයේ, වීර කැප්පෙටිපොල දිසාවේ, වාරියපොල ශ්‍රී සුමංගල හිමි මෙන්ම රජවරුන්, රැජිනියන් ඇතුළු පුරාණ චරිතයන් සමඟ රාජකීය හා වීර චරිත 35කට අධික ජීවමාන ඉටි මූර්තින් ප්‍රමාණයක් ප්‍රදර්ශනය කරනු ලබයි.

දළදා මාළිගාව සහ නගර සංවර්ධන අධිකාරිය එක්ව ආරම්භ කල මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය, පුරාණ මහනුවර යුගයේ නිවාස ශෛලියද රැකගෙන එයට නවීන ආලෝක රටාද මුසුකරමින් වර්ණවත්ව නිමවා ඇත.
අද, ඇහැලේපොල වලව්ව ඉටි කෞතුකාගාරය, ඉතිහාසය, සංස්කෘතිය සහ අධ්‍යාපනය එකට ගැළපූ අත්දැකීමක් ලෙස දේශීය හා විදේශීය සංචාරකයින් අතරද ජනප්‍රිය ස්ථානයක් බවට පත් වී ඇත.

🏛️ Ehelepola Walawwa Wax Museum – Kandy

The historic Ehelepola Walawwa, once the grand residence of Ehelepola Disawe, a noble of the Kandyan Kingdom, has been beautifully restored and transformed into a wax museum. Located in the heart of Kandy, this 18th-century manor now offers visitors a vivid glimpse into the final era of Sri Lanka’s monarchy.

Officially opened in July 2025, the museum features over 35 life-size wax figures of key figures from the Kandyan period — including kings, queens, monks, and national heroes such as Keppetipola Disawe and Wariyapola Sri Sumangala Thera. Each exhibit recreates important historical moments, customs, and royal traditions of the time.

The project, led by the Urban Development Authority and the Temple of the Tooth Relic, preserves the building’s authentic Kandyan architecture with wooden pillars, verandahs, and courtyards, while adding modern lighting and display features.

Today, the Ehelepola Walawwa Wax Museum stands as a blend of heritage and education, offering an immersive experience for both locals and tourists to learn about Sri Lanka’s proud past.
