This heartfelt song is from the popular Sinhala teledrama අඹ යාලුවෝ, telecasted on Jathika Rupavahini. It’s based on the 1957 children’s novel Amba Yaluwo (meaning Best Friends) written by Tikiri Bandara Ilangaratne, which has been translated into several languages.

The story highlights the deep friendship between Nimal and Sunil (Sudhu Appo) and the social and economic challenges they face. Though originally a children’s story, it carries timeless lessons on humanity and class differences that touch every heart. ❤️
