Farewell to Asst. Instructor Jason

We the STCSAC wish to extend our heartfelt wishes to Jason as he sets sail to a new horizon.

Volunteer Asst. Instructor since 2019, has given of his best to assist with developing young students to be Safe, Competent Scuba dives for the future.

You will be missed!

Instructing and teaching scuba diving as a volunteer at my alma mater since 2001 is the most rewarding commitment I have ever made.

A PADI and BSAC diver, have been asked the question time and again why both?

In its simplest term, scuba theory is the same acros all organisations but how muchis taught and how it is, is what defines a safe, competent diver.

For example PADI may offer better visuals than BSAC, while BSAC delivers a very broad based, in depth body of knowledge.

At the end of the day no matter how good theory maybe, what truly counts is how theory is delivered and by who!

BSAC in my opinion has a teaching structure that is far superior to PADI.

My experience as a student taught by many Instructor's across both organisations and a teacher myself should be valid enough to make such an opinion.

My 1st instructor was a BSAC and PADI instructor who taught us a hybrid programme that produced many divers.

Most of all, it is the BSAC club concept that makes the difference in better improving skills, sharing experiences and just having a good time with buddies.

Wishing you all the best if you decide on taking on scuba. It is an awesome and rewarding sport.

As much as I love Cressi, this module I believe is their biggest failure ever. It came with a cast iron and plastic housing that deteriorates and crumbles over the years.
