දිවා රාත්‍රී වෙහෙසෙමින් රටෙහි විනාශයට පත්වූ මහාමාර්ග හා පාලම් පද්ධතිය යලි ගොඩ නැගීමෙහි යෙදෙන මාර්ග සංවර්ධන අධිකාරියේ සියලු නිලධාරීන්, සේවක මහත්ම මහත්මීන් මෙන්ම එම කාර්යන් මැනවින් ඉටුකරගැනීමට නොයෙකුත් අයුරින් සහය වන සියලු පාර්ශ්වයන් වෙත හදපිරි ප්‍රණාමය හා ස්තුතිය.

Flood Warning – Kelani River Basin (Red Alert)

The Irrigation Department has issued a Red Flood Warning stating that a major flood situation may occur in low-lying areas of the Kelani River valley within the next 48 hours due to heavy rainfall and increased water release from upper catchment reservoirs.

Areas at risk include Eheliyagoda, Norwood, Yatiyantota, Galigamuwa, Ruwanwella, Bulathkohupitiya, Dehiowita, Seethawaka, Dompe, Padukka, Homagama, Kaduwela, Biyagama, Kolonnawa, Kelaniya, Wattala and Colombo.

Residents in these areas are urged to remain highly vigilant, take necessary precautions, and prioritise safety. Motorists and commuters are also advised to exercise extreme caution when travelling through affected regions.

Authorities have been requested to take immediate action to minimise risk to life and property.
