MISA Lesotho is implementing a governance and media development project focused on strengthening ethical election reporting, civic participation, media accountability, and democratic engagement in Lesotho.
To support effective implementation and financial accountability of the project, MISA Lesotho invites applications from qualified, organised, and detail-oriented individuals for the position of Accountant.

The Accountant will support the financial management, reporting, compliance, and accountability requirements of the project. The successful candidate will work closely with the project team to ensure accurate financial record keeping, budget tracking, transaction processing, and donor compliance.

The Accountant will be responsible for:
๐นManaging day-to-day project financial transactions and documentation
๐นMaintaining accurate accounting records and reconciliations
๐นSupporting budget monitoring and expenditure tracking
๐นPreparing financial reports and supporting audits
๐นManaging petty cash and payment processing
๐นSupporting donor compliance and financial reporting requirements
๐นEnsuring compliance with MISA Lesotho financial procedures
๐นAssisting with procurement and administrative processes related to project implementation
๐นSupporting the Head of Administration with finance and operational tasks where required
๐นMaintaining organised financial and administrative filing systems, both physical and digital
๐นAssisting with logistical and operational preparations for project activities, trainings, and meetings where necessary
๐นPerforming other finance and administration-related duties reasonably assigned within the scope of the position
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should possess:
๐นDiploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
๐นMinimum of 2 years relevant accounting or finance experience
๐นExperience working on donor-funded projects will be an added advantage
๐นStrong knowledge of bookkeeping and financial management principles
๐นProficiency in Microsoft Excel and digital financial systems
๐นStrong organisational and time-management skills
๐นHigh levels of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
๐นAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team environment
