MISA Lesotho is implementing a governance and media development project focused on strengthening ethical election reporting, civic participation, media accountability, and democratic engagement in Lesotho.

To support effective implementation and financial accountability of the project, MISA Lesotho invites applications from qualified, organised, and detail-oriented individuals for the position of Accountant.

The Accountant will support the financial management, reporting, compliance, and accountability requirements of the project. The successful candidate will work closely with the project team to ensure accurate financial record keeping, budget tracking, transaction processing, and donor compliance.

The Accountant will be responsible for:
๐Ÿ”นManaging day-to-day project financial transactions and documentation
๐Ÿ”นMaintaining accurate accounting records and reconciliations
๐Ÿ”นSupporting budget monitoring and expenditure tracking
๐Ÿ”นPreparing financial reports and supporting audits
๐Ÿ”นManaging petty cash and payment processing
๐Ÿ”นSupporting donor compliance and financial reporting requirements
๐Ÿ”นEnsuring compliance with MISA Lesotho financial procedures
๐Ÿ”นAssisting with procurement and administrative processes related to project implementation
๐Ÿ”นSupporting the Head of Administration with finance and operational tasks where required
๐Ÿ”นMaintaining organised financial and administrative filing systems, both physical and digital
๐Ÿ”นAssisting with logistical and operational preparations for project activities, trainings, and meetings where necessary
๐Ÿ”นPerforming other finance and administration-related duties reasonably assigned within the scope of the position

Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should possess:
๐Ÿ”นDiploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
๐Ÿ”นMinimum of 2 years relevant accounting or finance experience
๐Ÿ”นExperience working on donor-funded projects will be an added advantage
๐Ÿ”นStrong knowledge of bookkeeping and financial management principles
๐Ÿ”นProficiency in Microsoft Excel and digital financial systems
๐Ÿ”นStrong organisational and time-management skills
๐Ÿ”นHigh levels of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
๐Ÿ”นAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team environment

MISA Lesotho, in collaboration with under the AECFL Project, invites ALL media practitioners across Lesotho to an intensive two-day training workshop focused on reporting Trafficking in Persons (TIP) and Child Labour.
