MEETING THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS DOES NOT GUARANTEE ADMISSION OR SPONSORSHIP

most students apply to different institutions of higher learning thinking that just because they've met the minimum requirements, they will be secure admissions but that Is not always the case due to:

1. High competition and a limited number of spaces : Some courses are highly competitive and the priority is given to students with better grades and if the number of spaces close before you're admitted, you're out.

2. Specific course requirements: some courses require more than just grades. You'll have to pass the interview and perform better in specific subjects.

3. Sponsorship limitations: Sometimes you may secure admission but that's not the end. NMDS still use the similar criteria while granting sponsorship to students. Students with better grades are given the first priority.

4. Application quality: Some institutions require personal statements, supporting documents, etc. If you're not able to present yourself, you're out.

SO WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?

1. Improve your grades. Aim for Bs or better

2. Develop interview and writing skills so that you can write better personal statements, CV, etc.

3. Apply in time

4. Apply to multiple institutions if your the course you want to pursue is offered at different institutions.
