IDM Lesotho Welcomes LeBoHA for an Administrative
Benchmarking Visit

Yesterday, the 14th July 2026. The Institute of Development Management (IDM) Lesotho had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from the Lesotho-Boston Health Alliance (LeBoHA) for an administrative benchmarking visit.

The visit provided an opportunity to share IDM's institutional administrative systems, quality assurance practices, and academic management processes that support effective higher education delivery. Discussions focused on key areas including governance, student administration, quality assurance, assessment management, teaching and learning support, ICT systems, and continuous quality improvement.

This engagement reflects IDM Lesotho's commitment to collaboration, knowledge sharing, and supporting the advancement of higher education in Lesotho. We are honoured to contribute to initiatives aimed at strengthening institutional capacity and supporting the development of the country's future health professionals.

We thank the LeBoHA delegation for choosing IDM Lesotho as a benchmarking partner and look forward to continued collaboration in promoting excellence in higher education.

𝗙𝗨𝗘𝗟 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗦 𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐃 𝗕𝗔𝗧𝗖𝗛 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦𝗘 𝗢𝗡 𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗜𝗖 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗧 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗖𝗘𝗦

Today, IDM - Lesotho in conjunction with Petroleum Fund have successfully completed a 5 day training course on 𝘽𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙘 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙩 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨 for the second cohort of Fuel stations Representatives in the north region Hlotse, Leribe.

This course is designed to equip entry-level petrol attendants working at service stations in Lesotho with the foundational knowledge, practical skills and professional conduct required to perform their duties safely, competently and with excellence.

Grounded in the Occupational Safety and Health Act No. 4 of 2024 (Lesotho), the course develops attendants who understand their legal rights and responsibilities, handle hazardous fuel products correctly, serve customers with confidence, and respond decisively to emergencies, making them professional representatives of the fuel retail industry

The learner must understand and familiarise themselves with the intended learning outcomes and content outlined in this course. Not all outcomes will be achieved solely through traditional lectures; autonomous, self-directed learning will also be required.

𝗔𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼:
1. Perform vehicle maintenance functions in the forecourt
2. Apply principles of scene size-up to manage the emergency scene in the forecourt.
3. Describe the duties of employers, employee rights and responsibility in accordance with the national OSH Act of 2024
4. Analyse and interpret automated pump readings
5. Demonstrate meticulous customer care during service provision.
6. Apply basic firefighting techniques in emergency situations
7. Work effectively as a member of a team in the organisation.

IDM - Lesotho recently concluded a short training on Project Management for Sixty 15 Joint'Venture LHDA staff members in Mokhotlong district, Polihali.

Projects have become a central tool for organisations, NGOs, and government institutions to drive strategic initiatives, deliver services, and manage change. Yet, many projects fall short due to weak planning, poor monitoring and evaluation, ineffective communication, and
insufficient reporting.

The Project Management Short Course is designed to tackle these challenges by equipping participants with practical, workplace-ready project management skills. Sixty15 Joint Venture (Sixty15 JV) is responsible for delivering a contract, which involves the construction of resettlement villages, replacement housing, and associated infrastructure for communities affected by Phase II of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project. The project is not only a major construction undertaking but also a socially sensitive development initiative requiring
effective coordination among multiple stakeholders. However, effective delivery of such programmes requires strong project management competencies, including planning, ex*****on, monitoring, and risk management.

This workshop is designed to strengthen and enhance the Project management competencies of Sixty15 JV personnel and improve the successful delivery of the LHDA Resettlement Villages and Replacement Housing Project through the application of sound project management principles, practices, and tools.
