High Court to rule on Lipholo’s diplomatic passport - Sunday Express 31/03/2026

THE High Court is set to decide on Wednesday whether the leader of the Basotho Covenant Movement (BCM), Dr Tšepo Lipholo, should have his diplomatic passport released by the police.

Justice Maliepollo Makhetha reserved her judgment on Friday after hearing arguments from both Dr Lipholo’s legal representative, Advocate Tembo Lesupi and state lawyer, Adv Tsebiso Fuma.

LDF dispatches envoy to SA - Sunday Express 23/03/2026

THE Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) has dispatched a special envoy to South Africa to investigate the alleged killing of one of its soldiers during violent disputes linked to illegal mining operations in that country’s Gauteng province.

The move follows a report in the current edition of the Lesotho Times that Commando Corporal (Cpl) Molise Molieleng had been shot dead in a gunfight between rival Zama Zama (illegal miners) groups battling for control of an abandoned mining shaft in West Rand, South Africa.

Govt, CHAL renew partnership - Sunday Express 23/03/2026

THE government has renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Christian Health Association of Lesotho (CHAL), strengthening a long-standing partnership which dates back to 2007.

The updated agreement comes after the original MoU, signed nearly two decades ago, became partly outdated amid financial and operational challenges, prompting CHAL to seek government intervention.

MP ordered to apologise to judge - Sunday Express 23/03/2026

THE High Court has ordered Abia constituency legislator, Thuso Jacob Makhalanyane, to publicly apologise to High Court Judge Moroke Mokhesi for allegedly insulting him in 2024.

The ruling, issued on 9 March 2026 by Acting Judge Tsebang Putsoane, follows a settlement agreement between the two parties. As part of the settlement, Mr Makhalanyane is also required to pay M2000 toward Justice Mokhesi’s legal costs.
