“Vytautas Bacevičius: Piano Music, Volume Three” will be officially released on July 4, but the CDs are already in my hands and posing for a picture in Central Park, in the city that was also Bacevičius‘ home for several decades.
With my third album of Bacevičius’ solo piano music, the number of first recordings in this series has reached eleven, something I am particularly proud of as introducing the riches of the Lithuanian musical culture to the world has been my mission all along.
With this volume, I finally gathered courage to write booklet notes myself. They were then kindly edited by Toccata Classic’s Martin Anderson, the person who took on this Bacevičius series and believed in it from the very beginning. Sincere thanks also to unmatched sound producers Aleksandra Kerienė and Vilius Keras of BMR, Šarūnas Nakas whose introductory essay appears in the booklet, and the Lithuanian Council for Culture which funded the recording.
