✈️ Kodėl lėktuvų sparnų galai yra užlenkti? 👀

Jei kada nors atkreipėte dėmesį į lėktuvų sparnus, tikriausiai pastebėjote, kad kai kurių lėktuvų sparnų galai būna užlenkti į viršų.

Atrodo kaip dizaino detalė, tačiau tikras tikslas – mažesnės kuro sąnaudos ⛽

🌬️ Skrydžio metu sparnų galuose susidaro oro sūkuriai, kurie didina pasipriešinimą. Užlenkti sparnų galai padeda jį sumažinti - todėl taupomas kuras.

✈️ Gamintojas Boeing juos vadina „winglets“, o gamintojas Airbus – „sharklets“. Nors pavadinimai skirtingi, bet jų paskirtis nesikeičia.

⛽ Priklausomai nuo lėktuvo modelio, jie gali padėti sutaupyti maždaug 3–5 % kuro.

Tai reiškia:
• mažesnę taršą;
• pigesnius skrydžius;
• mažesnes kuro sąnaudas.

🔧 Pasirodo, net ir maža detalė sparno gale gali padėti lėktuvui skristi ekonomiškiau.

✈️ Why are aircraft wingtips curved upward? 👀

If you’ve ever paid attention to aircraft wings, you’ve probably noticed that some aircraft have upward-curved wingtips.

It may look like just a design feature, but the real purpose is reducing fuel consumption ⛽

🌬️ During flight, air vortices form at the tips of the wings, creating drag. Curved wingtips help reduce this drag - which means lower fuel consumption.

✈️ Boeing calls them “winglets,” while Airbus calls them “sharklets.” Different names, but the same purpose.

⛽ Depending on the aircraft type, they can help reduce fuel consumption by around 3–5%.

This means:
• lower emissions;
• cheaper flights;
• lower fuel costs.

🔧 Turns out even a small detail at the end of a wing can help an aircraft fly more efficiently.
