Just before the winter break, we stick to one of our favourite Dear Problem traditions – the bagel breakfast 🥯

This time, the bagels came with names – thoughtful, intuitive, rational, curious. A gentle reminder that even problems can be approached in different ways.

As always, breakfast was followed by Christmas ads. We watched, debated, and voted for the one that stayed with us most.

This year’s winner is Five Star Theater: “Slippers” by Amazon.

Phones don’t belong in school 🎒
They distract in class, eat up breaks, and pull kids deeper into endless scrolling.

This year, Vilnius Antanas Vienuolis Progymnasium drew the line: no phones during lessons or breaks. But instead of just saying NO, they invited students to skip the phone, not their friends.

We made this new rule feel less like punishment and more like a possibility. The mascot, Skipas, helped a lot. It’s a hippo in uniform who skates, stumbles, sometimes forgets the rules, but always finds new, interesting ways to spend his time and shares them with other kids. Less screen – more school life 🛹
