Jeff Buckley was a generational talent gifted with a breathtaking, four-octave vocal range. He burst onto the New York cafe scene in the early 1990s, eventually releasing his 1994 masterpiece album, Grace. Tragically, on May 29, 1997, his life was cut short at age 30 when he drowned in the Mississippi River.
Today marks the anniversary of the night the music world lost its ghost-chasing angel. Turn up your speakers and let his voice pierce through the noise once more. We are pressing play on his timeless catalog today to celebrate a flame that burned far too bright, far too fast.

On May 25, 1998, four broke college kids in a London club handed out 500 copies of their first, self-funded EP, Safety. The band was Coldplay, and indie history was made.

On this exact day in 1987, The Cure released their massive double album Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, delivering the timeless masterpiece "Just Like Heaven."

Go back to 1979, and David Bowie dropped Lodger, closing his iconic Berlin Trilogy and laying the groundwork for post-punk.
