Laura Minskere presented her latest research on urban governance and citizen satisfaction .
Citizen satisfaction with living in the city is essential for successful urban development and economic growth.
When focusing on urban governance, there are 3 main factors that influence citizens' satisfaction with living in the city:
🟣of how easy and straightforward it is to understand the procedures used by their local public administration
🟣how easily the information and services of his/her local public administration can be accessed online
🟣association between the respondent’s opinion on corruption in his/her local public administration
Residents of the city of Riga are among the least satisfied - 80% - with life in the city among European cities. In contrast, residents of the other Baltic and Nordic capitals are among the most satisfied - > = 93%.
