Oh Chefchaouen, I miss you!!

Ways to get to Chefchaouen:
CTM bus, private taxi, rental car, shared taxi.
☆CTM bus- you buy tickets at the station or at ticket sellers which are often internet cafés or travel agents or money exchangers. I did meet 2 people that were able to buy tickets online but that was 2 in 2 years. Usually the site just keeps going back to the prior screen and never processes.
☆private taxi- they are out front of airports, train stations and also near shared taxi areas. If you request one from your hotel they will be coming from the hotel to where you are. It might be more expensive as it is coming for you doing both there and back. Depending on the time of day you may want it arranged as taxis stop at midnight. I was literally put out in a town at midnight and had no idea where I was. I finally found another driver who would finish the trip for 400 dirham which is double the price of the entire trip. What it did was put me at a small town at 2am. No one is awake in a small town at that time. (That is a whole story I will write later)
☆Shared taxi- in each city there is an area for shared taxis. These have the same price for Moroccans and tourists. They carry 5 and will only go when all 5 seats are filled. If you are tired of waiting you can pay for the empty seat. Occasionally everyone in the car that wants to just go will pitch in for the empty seat. I have only waited over an hour one time. Later at night it can be hard to fill a taxi. Depending on where you are the taxi driver may decide to just cancel the trip. This is only late at night usually as they stop driving at midnight.
☆Rental car- I personally have not rented a car. My friends have had the best success at the airport.
