NMB has completed the installation and commercialisation of its Renewable Energy EV Charging Stations under the EMERGE programme, strengthening Malaysia’s green mobility ecosystem.

Deployed in Johor, the stations use on-site solar energy as the primary power source, supported by Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and the national grid as backup. Designed to operate in both on-grid and off-grid modes, the system helps reduce fossil fuel dependence and emissions per charging session.

With nearly 300 charging sessions recorded and wireless charging capability demonstrated, this milestone validates the reliability, stability and user acceptance of renewable-powered EV charging solutions.
