Learn With Us ကနေ announcement လေးတစ်ခုလုပ်ချင်ပါတယ်။ 📣

အခုလောလောဆယ်မှာတော့ Learn With Us ရဲ့ activities တွေအားလုံးကို ခေတ္တရပ်နားထားမှာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ အခြေအနေတွေအားလုံး တည်ငြိမ်သွားတဲ့အခါကျမှ activities တွေကို ပြန်လည်စတင်မှာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ အဲ့ချိန်ကျရင်လည်း Learners တွေက်ု ဒီလို အသိလာပေးမှာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ဒါကြောင့် Learn With Us page လေးကိုလည်း စောင့်မျှေပေးကြပါဦးနော်။ 🤗

Learnersတွေထဲမှာ Armyလေးတွေရှိကြတယ်ဟုတ်။😍😍

ဒီနေ့မှာတော့ အားလုံးလည်းသိကြတဲ့ BTS အဖွဲ့ ရဲ့ Talk လေးကနေ English စာလေ့လာကြမယ်။🤩

Kim Nam Jun (RM), BTSရဲ့ leader က English စာကို ဘယ်ကလေ့လာခဲ့တယ်ထင်လဲ။🧐

Friends ဆိုတဲ့ sitcom seriesတွေတစ်ဆင့် လေ့လာခဲ့တာပါတဲ့။

📌 sitcom : short version of situational comedy. (a funny television program)

I taught myself English. (Collocation that is quite relevant for us)

ကိုယ့်ဘာသာ English စာ လေ့လာတာ။ အဲလိုပြောချင်တဲ့အခါ သုံးလို့ရတယ်။🥳

📌To other activities, you can say : I taught myself how to....

Eg : I taught myself how to play guitar.

"I think, back in the day, when I was like 15 or 14, it was quite like a syndrome for all the Korean parents to make their kids watch the Friends."

📌 back in the day : to refer to a time in the past (informal way)

📌 to be quite the... or quite a something : to emphasize what we`re saying

📌 Syndrome : refers to a way of behaving or acting that person or particular group of people have(informal)

In Korea, it was a syndrome to encourage kids to watch Friends to learn English.

ငါ အသက် ၁၄နှစ်၊ ၁၅နှစ်တုန်းက ကိုးရီးယားက မိဘတိုင်း သူတို့ သားသမီးတွေကို Friends ကို ကြည့်ခိုင်းလေ့ရှိကြတယ်။

အဲ့ချိန်တုန်းက တော်တော်စိတ်ဆင်းရဲခဲ့ရတာ။

By first using subtitles and then removing them.

You`re training your listening comprehension.

📌 (1) to set aside : to save or keep, time, land, etc. for a particular purpose

Eg : She tries to set aside some money every month.

(2) to not consider something, because other things are more important

Eg : Let's set aside my personal feelings for now.

Ellen asked RM that "Have you ever gotten together hooked up with any of the Army?"

Hook up has different meanings.

📌 (1) hook up : to begin a romantic or sexual relationship with someone

(2) hook up : synonym of to meet up

The most accepted one is the first one. If you want to use it, there will be confusion.
