As you hopefully know next Saturday (26th) the British Association of Trade & Commerce in Mongolia (BATCM) will be hosting The Royal Gala at the Shangri-La hotel. Make sure you get your ticket before they're gone!

This week has also seen the start of the football World Cup in Qatar and a strong showing so far from European sides including Wales and England.

The Shangri-La have offered use of the private area off the Naadam Bar this Friday evening to host Steppe Inne guests as well as providing drinks from a private bar within the area and a special Steppe Inne menu. They will put a large screen TV in the area so people who wish to can watch the early game, Wales Vs Iran. Later England will be victorious over the USA, albeit with a 3am kick off!

For those that don't know (and some that do!) the Steppe Inne is the social club for the British community in Mongolia. Rising like a phoenix from the former British Embassy Bar, the Steppe is a place for all residents and visitors to Mongolia to share a drink and a chat about "the week that was" and on occasion raising money for various good causes. There is no requirement to be British but it might help if you understand their humour (or are willing to chuckle regardless).
