Set against the elegance of , in the bubbling momentum pre-conference, I met one of my favourite founders the industry has ever seen. He is someone who trusted me to help build multiple start-ups over the years. Many of those carefully chosen people are still thriving in iGaming today, within the same business.

That is the magic 🪄 (and hard work) with embedded hiring.
I sit around HR purists, all verticals: from technical to marketing teams, right beside my fellow internal TA partners when they are stretched. Sometimes what they need is a fresh internal pair of eyes.

I challenge job specs if they need it. I challenge hiring managers if I have to. Always respectfully and with thoughtful context. It is where better hiring happens and seriously good teams are built.

7 years ago, on a Halloween just like this one…

I remember showing up to work dressed in full Halloween spirit, quietly thinking, “Will I even be taken seriously like this?”

But the thing is… that team didn’t need costumes to know who we were.
We showed up with trust, effort, and a shared belief in building something amazing, together.

The team we built back then has gone on to thrive across the iGaming industry - leading, shaping, inspiring. That’s the real sign of a strong team: perhaps not staying forever, but growing into their own power.
