Yesterday’s yoga class was inspired by the wind.
Because what is happening around us affects what is happening within us. In Ayurveda there is a principle that “like increases like.”
When the qualities of the wind element increase in nature, we can feel those same qualities physically, mentally, emotionally and energetically.
An excess or imbalance of Vata (the dosha associated with air and movement) may show up as:
✨ Dryness
✨ Roughness
✨ Anxiety
✨ Insomnia
✨ Fear
✨ Bloating
✨ Constipation
Vata is the energy of movement and change.
So yesterday’s practice focused on finding steadiness within movement.
We began with alternate nostril breathing (Nadi Shodhana), bringing awareness to the breath and calming the nervous system.
From there we moved mindfully, allowing the breath to guide us.
We flowed, yet stayed grounded.
We found balance in Tree Pose.
And in Yoga Nidra we observed the movement of thoughts without becoming attached to them.
This is what you’ll find inside the online membership. Classes are not just a collection of poses or random sequences. They are created with awareness of how we interact with nature—and with the understanding that we are nature.
And this is exactly the kind of Ayurvedic wisdom I share more deeply in my course, Ayurveda: The Sister Science of Yoga.

Most yoga training teaches you how to move. Technique. Alignment.
This course teaches you why yoga works - from a yoga and ayurvedic perspective. And how!
Swipe through for a glimpse of what six weeks of Ayurveda: The Sister Science of Yoga actually covers — and what students from the first round took away 👉
We start this Tuesday 26th May. Six evenings, 5:30–7pm. All online, all recorded. Small group — real questions very much welcome.
