Together, we have delivered a first-of-its-kind support programme in Africa, designed to strengthen business models, address barriers to investment, expand growth opportunities, and contribute to building a more resilient and inclusive green economy.

What happens when vision, ex*****on, technical assistance, climate ambition, and capital align?

Yesterday in Accra, we celebrated the culmination of the Unlocking Carbon Credit Opportunities for Gender-Smart Green SMEs Technical Assistance Facility project in Ghana.

The event brought together SMEs that have been participating in our program alongside our valued partners, investors, ecosystem actors, and supporters, all united by a shared commitment to strengthening the pipeline of investment-ready, climate-focused SMEs in Ghana.

A key highlight of the day was hearing from the 10 finalists, gender-smart green SMEs, who pitched their businesses to a panel of jury members after months of tailored technical assistance focused on investment readiness and carbon markets preparedness. The support included bespoke advisory services covering carbon market opportunity assessment and coaching, investment readiness, and investor coaching. Their pitches reflected not only innovative business models but also the resilience, ambition, and determination of entrepreneurs building practical climate solutions for their communities.

Beyond the pitches, the event created an important space for dialogue, connection, and collaboration between founders, investors, and ecosystem partners. It reinforced a simple but powerful truth: when entrepreneurs are equipped with the right support, they are better positioned to attract investment, scale their businesses, generate competitive financial returns, and create lasting environmental and socio-economic impact.
