International Womenโ€™s Day being at gate, we pause to commend and celebrate the women who quietly โ€” yet powerfully โ€” contribute, in one way or another, to shaping the competitive landscape in Mauritius and beyond.

Competitive markets do not happen by chance. They are built, protected, and strengthened.

At the Competition Commission, a predominantly female team undertakes complex investigations, rigorous market monitoring, and sustained advocacy efforts aimed at levelling the playing field.

We wish to recognise their invaluable contributions โ€” in enforcement and administrative roles alike โ€” as well as those of many women across all spheres: the judiciary, the Bar, academia, business, and public service. Their expertise continues to shape competition law and policy, both nationally and across borders.

As we mark the days leading to International Womenโ€™s Day, we celebrate more than achievement.

We celebrate courage, commitment and the steady hands that keep the playing field level.

Happy International Womenโ€™s Day!
