Strengthening justice systems together with U.S. technology and innovation!
The U.S. Embassy was pleased to deliver a new Case Management System to Mauritius's Director of Public Prosecutions. This technology will help prosecutors track complex cases and combat serious crimes, including financial crimes, cybercrimes, trafficking in persons, and narcotics trafficking, more efficiently. The system was made possible by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, as well as the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
Director of Public Prosecutions Abdool Rashid Ahmine, Mauritian Police Force Commissioner Rampersad Sooroojebally, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Caleb Goddard, and Department of State International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Deputy Director Merideth Manella participated in the ceremony.
Thank you to UNODC - United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and our Mauritian partners for this important collaboration.
This partnership continues to demonstrate our shared commitment to the rule of law.
Together, we're building safer communities!

🚀 Inspiring future innovators through space science, technology, and exploration!
As part of the Freedom250: Artemis and U.S. Leadership in Space Innovation program, the U.S. Embassy partnered with universities in Mauritius to host engaging talks and interactive sessions led by former NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration official Jim Adams.
From discussions with undergraduate students University of Mauritius and Middlesex University Mauritius to educator and student engagements at the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre and St Andrew’s School, participants explored the impact of space science, from the Apollo 11 Moon landing and the Artemis missions to emerging technologies, leadership pathways, and the future of space exploration. 🌕🚀
The program included a courtesy meeting with the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council to discuss innovation ecosystems, research collaboration, emerging technologies, and opportunities for future cooperation in STEM and space-related initiatives.
Through the American Spaces network and the American Maker Space at the Rajiv Gandhi Science Center, the U.S. Embassy continues to promote STEM education and exposure to U.S. leadership and excellence in science, technology, and emerging technologies.
A special thank you to the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre, St Andrew’s School, University of Mauritius, Middlesex University Mauritius, and the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council for their collaboration and support throughout the program!
