The Maldives is set to benefit from improved international connectivity as Turkish Airlines increases its flight frequency between Istanbul and Malé for the 2026 summer season.

From 13 May to 20 October 2026, an additional weekly service will operate on the route, enhancing the existing schedule and bringing the total to six weekly flights between the two destinations. The mid-week rotation will provide travellers with greater flexibility, with departures from Istanbul on Wednesdays and return services from Malé on Thursdays.

The enhanced schedule further strengthens Istanbul’s role as a key global transit hub, offering improved access to Europe, North America, and other major regions for passengers travelling to the Maldives. This development is expected to support continued growth in both leisure and business travel, while improving overall route efficiency during the busy summer period.

Overall, the expanded operations reflect sustained demand on the Istanbul–Malé corridor and reinforce the Maldives’ strong position within international long-haul travel networks.
