SICDE Team since January has been visiting different schools and CBCCs in Karonga District to appreciate how the integrated children with disabilities are coping in their respective schools/CBCCs. The goal was/is to identify the gaps that require immediate attention. On-site trainings were/are offered to teachers/caregivers and parents to address the recognized gaps.

The rainy season has impacted children with disabilities negatively as most are not able to commute due to weather conditions. We keep on encouraging parents/guardians to help children with disabilities attend school at all times. This week, we will be at Mwabi Branch to train and make assistive sitting devices for children with sitting difficulties. Below are the snapshots of the activity that we have been doing since January in this second quarter of SICDE Project.

SICDE Project is financed by U.S. Embassy Lilongwe and implemented in partnership with MACOHA and Mtuli Foundation. These partners are key in coordinating some activities in the centers where the project is implemented.
