CLOSING the CLOSEOUT and LEARNING EVENT
"For a project this deeply integrated, and richly multisectoral, it is quite an interesting challenge to attempt to pick all the lessons learned in five years to fit in a moment-long speech. I guess I will be forgiven if I skip some of them. But suffice to say, the concentration of this integrated project into the two districts of Mangochi and Zomba offers a rich platform for future learning and benchmarking for similar projects in the involved districts or somewhere else.... "Resilience increases as the number of interventions increases. In other words, the more integration a person has the more resilient they are." Associate Prof Gowokani Chirwa, presenting an overview of findings in the learning studies into Titukulane that the University of Malawi undertook with the project's support. Titukulane has been a highly integrated project through its multisectoral approach, governance and capacity building, resilience building, gender and youth incorporation, community driven solutions, and consortium expertise from the six organisations that implemented it.
