We have chicks currently hatching this evening. Chicks will be ready to go this weekend. It will also be our last month for hatching out our Lavender Orpingtons.

Sweet, docile, fluffy and filled with personality, the Silkie chicken is a great ornamental bird for families with children.

Egg production isn’t too bad either! Our girls average 3-4 eggs per week and our longtime resident satin silkie, Brenda, graciously gives us up to five eggs a week.

A common question we are often asked is whether or not silkies can live with other breeds of chicken. While it might be possible, we recommend keeping silkies in their own coop or with smaller bantam breeds of chicken. Their docile nature leaves them prone to being bullied, injured or easily killed by larger breeds of chicken. These birds also require being sheltered from the cold and kept dry.

Silkie chicks will be available again in June!
Silkie pullets or laying hens will be available just after June and prices start at $55+ ❤️
