Had a great time last week with my clients Rosey and Erick Cruz! We caught a wide variety of fish on their first trip ever fishing! Flying fish, Multiple types of Grunts including very pretty "Ronco Condenado", Jack Crevalle and multiple types of Mojarra! Not very big (compared to the summer season quickly approaching) but still fun to catch and even had a few keepers they took home for dinner!

If anyone is interesting in booking a fishing trip let me know! Currently doing in-shore 3 hour fishing trips with water and a snack provided. Start time can be customized to your schedule as well.

Custom trips can be discussed as time/weather/schedule allow.

Lets go fishing ⛱🛥🪝🦩🐟

Portuguese Man-Of-War/Blue Bottle/Aguamala/Frigate Portuguesa on Progreso, Chelem and Chuburna beach

Just wanted to put this out there that I have seen these Man O Wars on Progreso beach on 2-10-2023 and since I have traveled down the beach going West (Chelem and Chuburna Puerto) and seen more washed up. Normally they are washed up on the tide line mixed in with the sea grass/kelp/junk. In a 15 minutes walk on the Malecon beach in Progreso I saw around 20 washed up though the sun was already down and I was using a flashlight so I probably missed some. Many people were walking in the same area where these creatures were washed up.

BE CAREFUL IF YOU ARE WALKING ON THE BEACH! If you see these avoid them while walking or walking your pets!! The stings are dangerous! Their tentacles can be extremely long.. Much longer than my video shows! This was simply the longest one I could find on the beach at night.

While these are washing up do not walk barefoot on the beach especially at night! These are incredibly hard to see when the sun goes down and their tentacles are even harder to see since they can be buried in the sand partially.

In a Yucatan Magazine Article from 2019 they said when these start to wash up the beaches are normally closed. Due to this being Carnival celebration I doubt Progreso will close the beach. So just be careful!

Took my friend Luis fishing today and had a blast! He never fished before! We made some great memories. We caught all kinds of fish including Jack Crevalle, Spotted Sea trout, Southern puffer, Lane snapper, and Mangrove snapper! It is always surprising to me how small the Jack Crevalles are when we get them to the boat because of how hard they fight. They are so much fun!

Flamingos were kind of far away but they were around as well as other beautiful local bird species constantly flying over and fishing along side us.
